  • Profile

Vancouver Brain Injury Association fills a devastating void for Vancouver and North Shore brain injury survivors by investigating the program needs of the Vancouver and North Shore brain injury community and providing those programs that are currently unavailable. VBIA also connects brain injury survivors, their families and caregivers to resources that are available by liaising with community and government organizations and introducing them to clients.

Their Brain Gain Fridays events help to stimulate brain activity for victims of brain injuries. Participants engage in neurologically beneficial exercises every week and frequent art therapy, music therapy, games, puzzles, social integration, and fun! Exercise is for health recovery for improved balance, coordination, and neuroplasticity.  Dance instruction, yoga, tai chi or other exercise promoting health recovery and neuroplasticity might also be included in the program.

The event takes place from 1 pm to 4 pm every Friday in the Inman room at North Shore Neighbourhood House in North Vancouver.

Call 604-779-2472 or email info@nullvbia.ca to register.

Located in: Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (VCH).
