The Canadian royal Purple Society and the Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association proudly presents Purple Thursday, a symposium on the Intersection of Intimate Partner Violence and Brain Injury. Tickets are available for in-person or via Zoom.
The October 19, 2023 Purple Thursday Symposium aims to better inform those who work with people experiencing IPV about brain injury. Shelter staff, first responders, and medical professionals need to be aware of IPV-related brain injury so they can provide targeted supports. It is expected that by raising awareness about IPV caused brain injury that untreated brain injuries will be reduced and those experiencing IPV will be better served.
Speakers for the symposium include Halina (Lin) Haag, Nneka MacGregor, Dr. Paul van Donkelaar, Karen Mason, and Dr. Michael Ellis.
The event will conclude with an intimate evening with award winning journalist, Anna Maria Tremonti.
