Introducing Bill C-277, my bill to establish a National Strategy on Brain Injuries
June is Brain Injury Awareness Month, a time to increase awareness of the prevalence of brain injury, the obstacles that exist, and the need for more services and support for all stages of recovery. More than 1.5 million Canadians live with brain injury. This bill requires the Minister of Health to develop a national strategy to support and improve brain injury awareness, prevention and treatment, as well as the rehabilitation of people living with brain injury. I want to thank Brain Injury Canada, and Janelle from my riding, whose collaboration and input made this bill possible.
