Developed by a team of experienced clinicians and content experts, MyGuide Concussion provides a personalized guide for each user on:

  • Introduction to common symptoms and concussion recovery basics
  • Guidance for gradually returning to activities
  • Strategies for becoming a self-manager
  • Tips for navigating the health care system

How is MyGuide Concussion unique?

While there are a number of websites that provide concussion education, the MyGuide Concussion website was designed to fill a gap by providing customized materials that focus on evidence-based self-management strategies and actionable ways incorporate these strategies into daily life.

Additionally, many resources only focus on individuals with a new concussion diagnosis, however MyGuide serves individuals with a new diagnosis as well as those with prolonged symptoms following a concussion.

Based on user’s responses regarding concussion experience, symptoms, and topics of interest, the MyGuide Concussion website designs a tailor-made guide for the user. There is also an option to view all educational content in a catalogue format.

The website tracks users’ progress through the modules and allows users to resume where they’ve left off when they return to the website. For optimal user experience, the website was designed to reduce scrolling, and screen brightness and font size can be adjusted. To encourage pacing, users are reminded on the website to take breaks while using the content.
