Have you thought about returning to activity but haven’t found the right type of class to suit your brain injury recovery needs? Have you heard about the benefits of mindfulness but don’t know where to begin?

Restorative Movement and Mindfulness will inspire you to reconnect your movement with your breath and your breath to your body. Join us to learn about the balance between the body and mind in both movement and stillness. Research supports that gentle physical activity and mindfulness meditation can improve the outcomes and quality of life of brain injury survivors. By participating in this group, you will learn about the many benefits of both activities while engaging in fun exercises, in a beginner-friendly, supportive community setting!

In this class we use movements and sequencing to help support neuroplasticity and learning by engaging both sides of your brain. Here you can challenge your muscles, balance and cognition while building the skills and confidence to return to movement in a fun, safe and inclusive group.

We will also build the foundations of your mindfulness practice to create balance throughout your brain injury recovery. Most anyone can benefit from practicing calming the mind, centering our focus, and opening our awareness. And yes, even your busy, distractable mind can find a point of calm. Mindfulness has many cognitive benefits including improving your ability to focus, reducing reactivity from sensory stimulation, reducing stress response, increasing self-awareness, improving sleep… and SO much more!
