Richmond Diversity Services works to eliminate barriers and ensure appealing, livable and well-managed recreation and cultural services for all Richmond residents. By working with community groups, they develop opportunities for persons with disabilities, in financial need, or from ethno- cultural groups. They also encourage Richmond residents to become involved in disability advisory committees.
Diversity Services has now grown to cover several sections:
Inclusion: The City of Richmond strives to be a welcoming and inclusive community for all who live, work and visit Richmond. Our goal is to ensure that Richmond residents and community members are able to participate in various aspects of community life regardless of income, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, race, or residency status in Canada.

Accessibility and Poverty Reduction: The Accessibility and Poverty Reduction section works to identify and remove barriers to participation so the Cityโs built environment, programs and services are open, accessible and appropriate for everyone, regardless of means or ability.
